I re-downloaded a sitemap from:
https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/details-k00223369.11633326.html
The last time I made the mistake of copying the contents from the file. This time I copied the xml file into my Desktop SEO folder and re-uploaded to GitHub. This time it worked.
